eBrevia Team to Lead CLE on Building AI-Augmented Legal Workflows

A practical, three-part framework will help legal professionals move from AI experimentation to effective implementation.

With AI tools increasingly common in legal practice, the challenge has become putting technology to work effectively. That requires rethinking workflows, accounting for exceptions and human review, measuring results, and planning for implementation.

On November 10, eBrevia’s Bob Ferrante, Sophiya Volkova and Rick Wood will lead AI-Augmented Legal Workflows: A Map to Success, a live online continuing legal education (CLE) program offered by the Federal Bar Association and co-sponsored by myLawCLE.

The program will give legal professionals a practical framework for evaluating and implementing AI-augmented workflows, organized around three stages: Define, Design and Deploy.

From workflow analysis to implementation

The program begins with a fundamental question: Where can AI make a meaningful difference in legal work?

The first session, Define Legal Workflows: Map the Opportunity & Stakeholders, will examine how to identify promising workflows, document existing processes, account for exceptions and bring the right stakeholders into the planning process. Participants will explore how to build a project plan and budget case, with measurement incorporated from the start.

The second session, Design Legal Workflows: Understand and Implement Technical Capabilities, will focus on matching the right technologies to individual steps in a process. Topics include selecting AI and non-AI tools, working with technical teams, establishing human review and approval checkpoints, and testing workflows iteratively. The session will also address how to measure success beyond time savings, including accuracy, client delivery speed and error reduction.

The final session, Deploy Legal Workflows: Take Your Automation to Production, will cover the work required to move from a tested workflow to a production environment. Discussion will include security, user feedback, IT and management approvals, training and rollout. The session will also consider how organizations can build on early successes to expand automation and how law firms can address client expectations, transparency around AI use and the implications for hourly billing.
